Brickhouse A Capella Singers
This A Capella course is an upbeat class with songs from multiple genres including some popular music from today. Singing A Capella is an advanced style of singing. It is recommended that students have a working knowledge of basic rhythm and the ability to hear pitch variations. During this class you will learn about vocal health, Italian vowels, diphthongs, triphthongs, overtones, diction, breathing techniques, fun tongue twisters and much more. The course includes a take-home practice CD to make learning your vocal part at home easy! You will also have some performance opportunities!
Drum Set Camp
Get your drumming chops in tip top shape by crushing 10 hours of drumming instruction into 1 week. In this camp we will go in depth on several different styles of drumming including rock, funk, jazz, afro-cuban, latin, and more! There will be rudiment exercises everyday. New grooves every day. Soloing ideas every day. You will learn how to practice effectively. You will walk out on the last day of camp feeling in fantastic drumming shape with a wealth of new techniques and concepts to explore on your own.

Music Theory I
This is the perfect course if you are new to learning music theory! It's also great if you want to delve into ear training, composing, or just simply want to have a more complete knowledge of the language of music. Every week you will do ear training and hands on music theory skills that you can apply immediately to whatever instrument you play. This 6 week course will give you the critical building blocks you will need as you continue your musical journey.

Music Theory II
This is the perfect course if you already have some basic knowledge of music and are looking to take it further and have a more complete knowledge of the language. Every week you will do ear training and hands on music theory skills that you can immediately apply to whatever instrument you play. This 6 week course will give you critical the building blocks you will need as you continue your musical journey. It is recommended that you already have at least a rudimentary knowledge of music theory or have completed our Music Theory I class. Review the week by week breakdown below to be sure this course is the right fit for you or your student.

Brickhouse Music Choir
Join Tom Hofmeister for a 12-week singing course on Tuesdays. This is a first time offering, as this course is being offered completely free of charge. We are building our Brickhouse Music Choir (BHMC) and would love to have YOU be one of the founding members! You will be learning classic holiday repertoire and will get numerous opportunities to perform for the community...let us know if you’d like BHMC to sing for YOUR event or facility. During our group class you will learn the importance of vocal health, how to correctly pronounce Italian vowels, understand diphthongs, triphthongs, overtones, diction, breathing techniques, engage in fun tongue twisters and much more. This class is open to ANYONE who wants to attend, but due to the importance of vocal maturity, we strongly recommend ages 10 through adults.

During every week of class, you will be playing with other musicians in a fun and comfortable setting with the guidance of a professional musician. YOU WILL BE PLAYING SONGS EVERY DAY, FROM DAY ONE! This is a great opportunity to play with a real band and learn real songs. The band will perform at the Brickhouse Music Holiday Showcase on December 10th. Age recommendation is 12 - 18.

Steve Kaufman's Guitar Workshop
Steve Kaufman is a Three-Time Winner of the prestigious National Flatpicking Championships. He has over 100 award-winning instructional books, CDs and DVDs to his credits and 18 CD recordings. Steve will be conducting his award-winning, All Level, 8 hour, Hands-on Flatpicking Guitar Workshop. He will teach his on Right hand and Left Hand techniques, new songs, how to best learn by Tab and by ear, chords from basic to intermediate forms and see how they move around the fingerboard. Breaking down the fingerboard and show you how to create more interesting solos and much more! Bring a guitar, voice recorder and lots of questions! Voted "Best Workshops" since 2002. Tuition includes BOTH days. AND SOLO CONCERT at the American Legion in River Falls, 6:30 on Saturday 10/13.

Steve Kaufman's Mandolin Workshop
Students will work on fingerings, new songs, how to learn new songs, learning to learn by Tab and by ear, chords from basic to intermediate forms and see how they move around the fingerboard. Students will go over chop rhythm, timing, notes double stops and more. Limited Seating. Bring a mandolin, voice recorder and lots of questions!

The Assisted Music Class with Tom Hofmeister is a class for people that need assistance to play music. The class rotates a few basic instruments including hand drums, boomwhackers, a theremin and a day of singing. Some of the days are designed for those that have difficulty with gripping instruments. Other days are built around basic rhythm. All days are very low pressure and are intended to educate through fun!

Homeschool Music Theory
Our afternoon classes are open to our local homeschool community. A Music Theory book for the appropriate level is required for this class and can be purchased for under $10 at Brickhouse. These classes will equip students with a complete understanding of harmony, melody, and rhythm. Music Theory is highly recommended for students ages 10 and up - prepare them for a life filled with music!
