Music Theory
 

We offer multiple levels of Music Theory that will equip all students with a complete understanding of harmony, melody, and rhythm. These courses are intended for age 10 through adult. Students as young as 6 may start with Music Primer (see above). Music Theory is highly recommended for all Brickhouse Lesson Academy students. You will get 6 weeks of class for just $25 ($20 if you register early). Test your skills with our easy level assessment to find a theory class that’s the perfect fit for you or your child. Free Summer Music Theory
 

Our afternoon classes are usually only open to our local homeschool community, but we are making them available to EVERYONE for summer of 2018!  A Music Theory book for the appropriate level is required for this class and can be purchased for under $10 at Brickhouse. These classes will equip students with a complete understanding of harmony, melody, and rhythm. Music Theory is highly recommended for students ages 10 and up - prepare them for a life filled with music!

Brickhouse Music Choir
 

Join Tom Hofmeister for an 11-week singing course on Tuesdays. You will be learning classic holiday repertoire and will get numerous opportunities to perform for the community...let us know if you’d like BHMC to sing at YOUR event or facility. During our group class, you will learn the importance of vocal health, how to correctly pronounce Italian vowels, understand diphthongs, triphthongs, overtones, diction, breathing techniques, engage in fun tongue twisters and much more. This class is open to ANYONE who wants to attend, but due to the importance of vocal maturity, we strongly recommend ages 10 through adults.

Musical Theater Camp
Developing Your Craft: Song Choice, Interpretation, and Auditioning
 

Join Kevin Werner Hohlstein and special guests (including a ‘Broadway Audition Experience’ with Jen Burleigh-Bentz) for a week of camp! Whether you are an experienced musical theater performer or are wanting to take the plunge, this class is for you. This performance-driven experience will work to develop your confidence and stage presence while reviewing your audition pieces and working to bring them to the next level - whatever that is for you individually. This class will be tailored to the students participating, helping to both build upon strengths and to help develop additional performance skills while building their craft through the exploration of the steps to create a deep and connected musical theater performance. The goal of the class is to choose two age- and type- appropriate audition pieces, fully develop one audition piece, learn a choreographed group number, and participate in a showcase performance.

Jazz Band Camp
 

This is a more intensive version of our Beginner Jazz Combo class. Students will learn the fundamentals of playing in a jazz combo and they will get to play with other musicians to form a real band! They will study classic jazz repertoire and jazz improvisation. This is a great class for drummers, bass players, guitarists, saxophonists, piano players, brass players, woodwind players, and even string players. This class includes 18 hours of instruction AND a live performance opportunity for students!

Bluegrass/Old Time Music Jam
 

Come hang with Walter on the 2nd Saturday of every month and jam on your instrument. This jam session is free and open to anyone who wants to attend. Bring your banjo, uke, acoustic guitar, Cajon, or any other instrument that's great for jamming. If you have any questions, feel free to email Walter directly at walter.croll@gmail.com

Do you want to make money, more money, or work full time as a freelance musician?  UWRF graduate ("84) Pete Radd has been doing it for over 30 years in Las Vegas, and he'll be sharing tips on how to get more gigs, better gigs, and how to earn more playing them. We'll also cover the basics regarding:

                    How to compete for the ideal gigs you want

 

                    Negotiating better pay 

 

We will also discuss ANY question about gigging that you want.    Note:  This is not about "the music business".  We won't talk about how to sell your songs - - we will talk about succeeding at gigging at the local level.

Back To School Instrument Sampler
 

Come in and meet our Brickhouse Music Teachers and see a brief demonstration of the instruments they teach. Demonstrations include Drum Set, Guitar, Bass, Violin, Voice, Ukulele, and more! If you or your child have been wanting to learn an instrument, this is the perfect event to pick the perfect instrument! Students that register on-site during the event will receive the first lesson for free.
