Come try out our early childhood music program at Brickhouse Music! This is a unique learning opportunity that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your child’s face. Beginner Jazz Combo
 

In this class, Walter will teach students the fundamentals of playing in a jazz combo. This is like the jazz version of our rock band classes. Students will get to play with other musicians to form a real band! They will study classic jazz repertoire and jazz improvisation. This is a great class for drummers, bass players, guitarists, saxophonists, piano players, brass players, woodwind players, and even string players.

Music Theory BOGO Day - With Anthony Bloch

 

I'm sure by now you've heard of our popular Music Theory classes at Brickhouse Music. This is a perfect opportunity to come and ask questions directly to our music theory teacher, get a level assessment so you know which class to take, AND get 2 classes for the price of 1. Normally our theory classes are $25 for a 6 week class (already a super affordable rate) and now you can get 12 weeks for the same price ($2 per class) if you register on-site during this event. Drop in at ANY time during this 2 hour event.

Bluegrass/Old Time Music Jam
 

Come hang with Walter for this special Bluegrass Festival edition of his Saturday jam session! This jam session is free and open to anyone who wants to attend. Bring your banjo, uke, acoustic guitar, cajon, or any other instrument that's great for jamming. If you have any questions, feel free to email Walter directly at walter.croll@gmail.com

Guitar Pedals 101 & 201 - With Tommy Bentz

Come hang with Tommy Bentz for back to back clinics on guitar pedals! Beginners and veterans are both welcome. This is a free clinic Saturday doubleheader. If you are new to pedals, we'll see you at the first clinic, and if you already have experience with pedals, join us for the 2nd clinic. Or just come to both!

BHM Student Showcase - at Junior's!*
 

Several times a year we like to give our students opportunities to perform. We value the performance aspect of music education and know the hard work and dedication that it takes for our students to prepare to perform for an audience. This is our chance to showcase the talent that our students work so hard to develop and to share that music with their supportive parents and the community.

BHM Wind Ensemble
 

This is another one of our absolutely free course offerings. Our veteran brass teacher, Ben Allen will lead students on a 6-week journey through some accessible and challenging wind ensemble repertoire. This class is recommended for ages 12 through adult. All standard wind ensemble instruments are welcome (trombone, trumpet, clarinet, flute, sax, percussion, french horn, oboe, tuba, etc). If you have any questions about enrollment, just ask us .

Finding Your Perfect PA - With Tommy Bentz

Learn everything you want to know about mixing boards, powered speakers, amps, and everything in between. Tommy will teach you how to get your show ready to go! Whether your gig is at a coffee shop, local club, or an outdoor festival, Tommy will help you to focus on EXACTLY what you need. Home Recording - With Pat & Eugene

This clinic will focus on building your home studio and basic recording techniques.  Pat and Eugene will be discussing gear essentials for high-quality home recording as well as some approaches to common recording scenarios.

Music Primer (ages 6 - 9)
 

This is a great way to tackle the challenging task of learning to read music in a fun and accessible way through games, piano, and percussion! This class is recommended for children ages 6-9. Brickhouse Music has teamed up with The School District of River Falls to offer you this exciting course. Registration for this course is available exclusively through Community Education at rflearns.org. Basic reading skills required.

What Does It Mean to You?
Finding the meaning in your performance
 

Kevin Hohlstein (former McNally Smith faculty member) will walk participants through techniques and practices to go deeper into your performances from a song interpretation standpoint, regardless of your level of experience. If you are working on a song, please bring it along as this will be an opportunity for you to work with the techniques shown. Kevin is teaching our Musical Theater Camp in July so this would be a great chance to meet him!
